n in intense white light pierces Nileen’s vision as she awakens. In the background she hears familiar voices.

Arguing.

“I will not abide the death of Godongwana”, Shaka Zulu protests.

Nicodemus’ voice can also be heard, “Rest assured, The First Conscience will be brought to bare.”

“Your words do little to assure me. It was Godongwana’s presence among you that sealed his fate.”

“You speak out of turn, savage” declares Sundiata. His voice very close to Nileen. “Godongwana knew what was at stake. Still, we must tarry longer — now is not the moment to strike.”

Shaka Zulu steps face-to-face with The Fifth Conscience of The Great Divide.

“I have returned your flesh and blood to you, out of respect for Godongwana”, Shaka Zulu proclaims. “I will have the head of The First Conscience, and all of those responsible.”

The indigo blue eyes of Nicodemus catches Shaka Zulu’s attention. There is something in them. Familiar. A warrior’s recognition.

An ally.
